Amount without sales tax x (QST rate/100) = QST amount
Amount without sales tax + GST amount + QST amount = Total amount with sales taxes
An error margin of $ 0.01 may appear in reverse calculator of sales tax. It is quite possible that due to rounding of the amount without sales tax, the calculation charges do not give (0.01 to close) the total of sales tax used in every businesses.
Regarding the sale of the book, only the GST is to be considered in this type of calculation, except for a few provinces where Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) must be used.
